This tower has long since been abandoned by its former occupants and lies in ruin. I used the Warhammer 40k models Witchfate Tor and Dreadstone Blight as my main references for the design of the tower. I started this model in Maya, blocking in all the shapes. Then I moved to ZBrush and sculpted in detail. In hindsight, I wish I had made this a more modular blockout because I ran out of time sculpting each individual piece. After I had sculpted enough to finish baking my Game Res mesh I moved to texturing in Substance Painter. It took a bit of time to get my UV’s laid out well enough to have the resolution I wanted, and I ended up going from 1 texture set to 2 in order to achieve the level of detail I wanted. Moszna Castle is a beautiful example of eclectic architecture located in the small village of Moszna in southwestern Poland. It was built in the 18th century, although traces of older cellars have been discovered in the gardens.
The central part of the castle is an old Baroque palace, which was partially destroyed by fire in 1896 and reconstructed in the same year by Franz Hubert von Tiele-Winckler. The height of the castle and the numerous turrets and spires give the impression of verticalism, and the whole castle contains exactly ninety-nine turrets.
