The bare chassis was ordered from Detroit through the Edelweiss Garage – being the local Cadillac dealer in Morges, beside Lausanne, Switzerland – by Philippe Barraud, son of William Barraud and nephew of William’s brother, Maurice, both wealthy Swiss industrialist who had “built” their fortune in red bricks and roofing tiles.
Philippe had a local Swiss coachbuilder, Willy Hartmann of Lausanne, create and build for him a custom 2-pass roadster on the V16 chassis. He used the car intermittently between 1937 and the early 60s. My contribution to the #AngelsAndDemonsChallenge with this Hellboy version of mine. It’s been a long time since I wanted to work on this character from Mignola being a huge fan of his work.
At the exact same time i started working on this model, the challenge went live, so it was the occasion to participate. I don’t know if it’s okay since i didn’t create the original character to begin with, but the overall redesign, posing and sculpting is mine, so i’m trying anyway !
I used Zbrush and maya for the sculpt/modeling part and substance painter for the baking. I also wanted too stay light on the details to keep the stylized design intact and not fall into hyperrealism.
I’m working on a full textured version wich should be live in a couple of days.
Anyway, i hope you like it and i wish the best of luck to everyone for this challenge :)

This model was created in 3ds max and retopologised with a turbosmooth modifier and the uvs was created in 3ds max and then the high poly detail was baked onto the model with substance painter.
