It's almost a year ago that I uploaded my first ship model, the IJN Fubuki, so I decided to make one of her more advanced sister ships: The IJN Ayanami. The Ayanami was build for the Imperial Japanese Navy and when introduced into service she was one of the most powerful destroyer in the world. She sustained critical damage after being shelled by the USS Washington during the second phase of the Battle of Guadalcanal (15 November 1942) and was later scuttled by IJN Uranami. A 3d model based on a museum example of a sten like submachinegun in the Polish military museum in Warsaw, the submachinegun or “SMG” was made by Edward Sitek a member of the Polish resistance during the Nazi occupation of Poland in ww2 most likely by hand and out of scrap metal with minimal tools.
The design of the submachinegun is most likely based on the famous British Sten gun mixed with the Polish Mors smg, there is also from the looks of it some Russian ppsh 41 influence of the gun as the what could be a safety, fire selector or both look fairly similar to the ppsh 41s fire selector. Not much else is known of the gun as the museum exhibit does not tell you much, no idea what the fire rate was or in what cartridge it was chambered in, my guess is that it’s in the ever popular 9x19 parabellum or “9mm” cartridge as the dimensions seem right to me 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 48635 polygons.

Vasa was a Swedish warship that capsized and sank off Beckholmen in Stockholm’s inlet on its maiden voyage, August 10, 1628. After some early unsuccessful attempts to rescue her in the 17th century, Vaasa was largely forgotten.
The ship’s approximate position remained known until the middle of the 19th century, but no serious attempts were made to salvage it. In 1956, the amateur researcher and engineer Anders Franzén, together with the diver Per Edvin Fälting, succeeded in re-establishing Vaasa’s exact position and after several years of marine archeological excavations and preparations, Vasa was lifted above the water surface on April 24, 1961.
Since 1990 the ship is included in a permanent exhibition in Stockholm. The Light Amphibious Assault Warship is the US navy litoral transport, design to transport up to 3x60 tons tanks to shore, LAAW is large enough to land a medium helicopter; can be fitted with additional containerized weapons in place of is transport cargo. The LAAW has several advanced naval design features. The entire crew cabin can be retracted below the ships hull reducing the radar and target profile of the LAAW, its mast can also be retraced to lower its overall height allowing it to sail under low bridges and narrow sea lanes. The ship is armed with four remote weapons stations that can mount various light and medium caliber cannons. The LAAW is also equipped with the AN/SLQ-59 Electronic warfare system which can jam radar guided anti-ship missiles and is highly effective, the ship also mounts the EOSS optical tracking system which can detect targets up to 4km away. Combined this gives the LAAW excellent situtation awareness in litoral waters.
