The destroyer Mutsuki was was the lead ship of her class of 12 destroyers built during the 1920s for the Imperial Japanese Navy. Mutsuki herself was sunk by US bombers during the Battle of the Eastern Solomons in August 1942.

It’s almost a year ago that I uploaded my first ship model, the IJN Fubuki, so I decided to make one of her more advanced sister ships: The IJN Ayanami.
The Ayanami was build for the Imperial Japanese Navy and when introduced into service she was one of the most powerful destroyer in the world.
She sustained critical damage after being shelled by the USS Washington during the second phase of the Battle of Guadalcanal (15 November 1942) and was later scuttled by IJN Uranami.
