Celebrating the 25th anniversary of the birth of Dolly the Sheep, the first cloned mammal to be created from an adult cell. Dolly was born on 5 July 1996 at the Roslin Institute, Scotland of a Scottish Blackface surrogate mother. She died on 14 February 2003. The 3D model presents a digital twin of a theatrical costume for Glafira Alekseevna in the play “Wolves and Sheep” (1875) by A.N. Ostrovsky. The costume was modelled by using historical block patterns, 2D scans of textile materials and 3d scans of contemporary actors. Anthroscan, Clo3D, 3dsMax, PixPaint and SubstancePainter software programs were applied.
The authors of the 3D model are Aleksei Moskvin and Mariia Moskvina (Saint Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design).
The authors thank prof. Victor Kuzmichev (Ivanovo State Polytechnic University), faculty members and students of Ivanovo State Polytechnic University and their colleagues from Ivanovo State Museum of Local History named after D.G. Burylin for providing data required for 3D modelling.

This is the future, November of 2003. Wolves have taken over planet Baaa and established an oppressive dictatorship over the sheep population. Nevertheless, hope is not lost with the uprising of the wool rebellion and their operation “Sheep in a wolf’s clothing” which consists of hijacking mech sentinels from the wolf army, and infiltrating into their HQ for one final blow towards freedom!
I had a lot of fun in this project that started as a simple “let’s turn a bad pun into 3D” during lunch breaks and escalated to a fully textured, rigged and animated character.
