I started this as a fun little side project that I would work on when taking a break from my primary piece. For this project I wanted to try something new and different. My goal was to get more comfortable making strange shapes in Zbrush and also to become better at hand painting textures. Primarily painting in the shadow, lighting, reflections/ highlights and bounce lighting into the diffuse map. This is my entry for the Low Poly Game Challenge for Sketchfab!
The hero of the game is a brave Monk, surrounded by his KI energy, which is willing to fight the scary Ryuu Dragon to save his friend, trapped at the top of the castle.
In the left side of the screen, there’s a Takoyaki shop where you can recharge your energy.
And in the right side, you can find Kappa, a fisherman with whom you can talk to ear prizes.
Get ready and fight the dragon to follow the path and get the Daruma item. That’s the only way to get inside the castle, which is floating in the blue sky air above furious sea.
It was modeled and assembled with Maya.
For this scene, I used a few textures, for the sky, sea and caustic, made with Photoshop. Besides these textures, everything is just flat color shader to achieve the toon look.

There are handles on both sides of the cylinder, for easy holding by kids. Straws are inserted off-center on top, which lets kids see the label and window into the container, letting them see how much of their drink remains.
Unlike real juice boxes, Juice Cylinders are sturdy so kids can’t squish them. It’s better to teach them not to squeeze their drink containers to get juice out quicker, or they could try that with restaurant cups and end up soaked in their drink! Better avoid that…
