It now stands desolate, derelict and its stone structure is beginning to crumble. During its time, it was the hidden jewel of the mountains as it was a luxurious hotel hosting visitors such as Pharouk, the King of Egypt and Ezer Vaisman president of Israel as well as top businessmen of the time. It was a mountain resort with a casino, night club and had state of the art furniture and decor. What makes the Berebgaria Hotel appealing is its peculiar hostory. The hotel closed down due to bad business and huge profit loss but underlying stories uncover secrets within the family. It was said that the original owner, after having built a hotel himself with an international presence and reputation, left the hotel to his three sons. I have been wanting to do this for a while because I always thought it was facinating how much this painting already looked like a lowpoly 3d scene! I’ve also always been a fan of the aesthetic of the Futurist movement.
I finally sat down to do this because I realized that this would be perfect for this month’s lowpoly challenge, seeing as Futurism was an art movement that portrayed utopian visions of a high tech future. So with that in mind, this is my second entry to the UtopiaLPChallenge, this one being in the pastel color scheme rather then the neon one like my first submission. I would have used a longer chain of buildings to be more faithful to the original work, but wanted to ensure that I remained within the 2000 triangle limit (final count for scene is 1964 tris) of the challenge.

A little sad that that the lil mouse necromancer (Necro-mouser?) sadly didn’t make the final model, but I’ll definitely be updating this asset with him in!
Despite having a nightmare (aka losing all my texturing the night before!) I tried to work through it and still get my submission done in time, and I’m really pleased with the results! This was an area I wasn’t very confident in (sculpting especially) and so I’ve learnt tons this last week! I’m hoping to be more involved in future challenges as I enjoyed this one tons!

A photogrammetry scan of the Haunted Mansion Entrance Plaque. I remapped the UV texture and painted it in Substance painter. I wish it looked good but there are a few foreign triangles that look bad when zoomed in, partiallly from me attempting to reduce triangles. I hope it still looks good though. The original file was in misplaced in my old models folder and while I’ve seen many etsy sellers who have used this model, I cant find the original poster.
