So this was a cool project to work on, I like sculpting weird artsy stuff and I’ve been trying to learn Speedtree and trees are pretty boring to look at for hours at a time while you’re trying to figure out what all the buttons and sliders do. I also had to learn a whole new workflow for this but it is what it is.
The concept was heavily inspired by ‘The Last Of Us’ in the beginning, I also wanted the body to be similar to my ‘Corpse Flower’ model since theyre both in a larger project together.
Initially while I was figuring out Speedtree this model had blue leaves so I was going for that Willow tree vibe but it wasnt looking right. This is my attempt at the 13mm Jackal from Hellsing! I always loved the weapons in this anime! They are all so over the top! I took so long to make this because I couldn’t find any consitent references, even from the anime! The model used in 3D portions of the anime seems to stay the same, but in most of the drawn scenes, the gun changes. At the time of modeling the Casull I didn’t feel confident enough to “Fill in the gaps” for areas that didn’t make sense given the inconsistent references but I think I was able to do a good job on it now!
Textures are PBR and come in 4096, 2048, 1024, and 512.
The “Final.zip” contins the last version of the Blender file I made this in.
Seeing as how the next gen of gaming is basically here, I went ahead and modeled in some parts I normally would have normal mapped. After spending some time studying the models in Cyberpunk 2077, I feel pretty good about this polycount for a “next gen” model.

This spear comes with 3 materials. One for the ornamental spear Gau, one for the simple wooden stick and one for the red hair. They are upright and easy to manipulate in the files.
Normal Texture are included.
You can freely switch between these parts as the red hair actually works pretty well with Gau as well but I spent a lot of time making those etching.
The weapon is based upon a southeast-asia polearm and mixes with Japanese and Chinese aesthetics to make it appear Eastern but not specific.
