Last summer I went to Universal Studios in Orlando with my best friend. It was great fun—the Harry Potter stuff was super cool and I managed to win a Simpsons-themed cat hat in one of the carnival games (that’s a 3D model for another time). Since all Minions-related movies are (no-longer-secretly) some of my favorites, I couldn’t leave without this guy. The original model from the game! This was the first dragon ever made for Skyrim, and it took me three months to make (what with all the back-and-forth with programming, art and design). All the variants - the Blood Dragons, the Ancient Dragons, etc - came later, and were all texture variants of this one, with low-poly mesh changes to the mesh. As with all things art, there are elements of this guy I wish I could change, but ultimately I love this dude and I’m proud of him. This is a creation that I originally built in “Stormworks: Build and Rescue” and modified using the mystical powers of Blender. Although I tried my best to clean it up, the nature of exporting models from Stormworks means that it’s still a bit rough in some areas. My model attempts to represent the Glen Sannox as she would’ve appeared in her original 1957 configuration, although I took some artistic liberty and added some extra rust on the hull (because it looks cool?). I originally completed this creation in July of 2020, but I realized that my model wasn’t very accurate when compared to the real ship. With this updated version, I’ve almost completely rebuilt my model to be as accurate to the real thing as possible. It’s still not a perfect replica by any means, but hopefully you guys still like it! 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 1105686 polygons.

I wanted to make a new hellenic thing, but then realised that this may be original Roman design - at least I found no evidence of greek origins of the design. It’s still doric though! This model is based on the sarcophagus of Lucius Cornelius Scipio Barbatus (clearly a roman guy), and here is the fun fact - the inscription on the tablet was once redone, most likely by one of the relatives of Scipio. So I changed the text a bit with some lines from the movie “Blood & Concrete: A Love Story” - since Romans really loved concrete, which they called opus caementicium. 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 34609 polygons.
