This is a low poly (<10k) version of S/S Norrtelje, a 44 meter long passenger steamer built in Stockholm in 1900. I’ve made it (and her sister ship Express) for my Sthlm1925 project in Cities: Skylines. A 1M tris 3D-scan of a physical model of this ship has been uploaded by the Swedish National Maritime And Transport Museums, under CC Attribution license. This is loosely based on that scan, but I’ve modeled this completely from scratch. I’ve reused some parts of the texture. So my model should look fairly similar to the 3D scan, but it has less than 1% of the geometry and one (diffuse) 1k texture instead of four 8k textures 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 8777 polygons.

We had to make a character from a celebrity, I choose my favorite actor Mads Mikkelsen and decided to turn him into a gentleman thief a bit like Arsene Lupin. I used zbrush for the high poly sculpt and the low poly 3D coat and maya for the Uv’s, skinning and export setup Substance painter for the texturing I also integreted my character into a UE4 scene It was super great to make and I learn a lot from it, even if I’m not really satisfied since the concept is kind of simple, I wasn’t to confident for making a complexe character because I’m still a beginer, but with all the things I learned the next one will be much better. This version has no pose and no hat and mask for a better view of the details of the face. This furniture was used until July 1966 when it was purchased by the museum from Józef Mucha from Rudawa. The surface of the cupboard is covered with a single colour primer – green obtained by mixing Parisian blue with bright yellow. Four little bouquets are put on profiled door panels. I have been wanting to do this for a while because I always thought it was facinating how much this painting already looked like a lowpoly 3d scene! I’ve also always been a fan of the aesthetic of the Futurist movement. I finally sat down to do this because I realized that this would be perfect for this month’s lowpoly challenge, seeing as Futurism was an art movement that portrayed utopian visions of a high tech future. So with that in mind, this is my second entry to the UtopiaLPChallenge, this one being in the pastel color scheme rather then the neon one like my first submission. I would have used a longer chain of buildings to be more faithful to the original work, but wanted to ensure that I remained within the 2000 triangle limit (final count for scene is 1964 tris) of the challenge. The whole scene was modeled and animated in Blender and textured in Substance Painter.
