The Skuldelev ships are a group of five well preserved 11th century ships from the Viking period, found in the Roskilde Fjord in Denmark near the town of Skuldelev. Skuldelev 2 was a large ocean going longship, a war vessel probably known as a Skeid - the type of vessel also known in the sagas as “dragon ships”. From analyzing the wood of the ship archaeologists were able to determine the ship had been built in Ireland around the 1040’s CE, the furthest away of all the Skuldelev ships. Its main feature was its simplicity, so that the weapon could be made even in small workshops, by inexperienced engineers. The model contains quads and tris (no N-gons). Scale/transform is set to 100%, units are set to centimeters, texture paths are stripped and and it is made to real world scale. FBX, OBJ and 3DS files have been included in separated HI and LO subdivision versions. Renders were made in 3DSMax with V Ray and have no post processing. All textures are included and mapped in all files but they will render like the preview images only in 3DSMax with V-Ray, the rest of the files might have to be adjusted depending on the software you are using.
