This is a Game Ready model of a Gas Pump I made while watching a course from Emiel Sleegers, a 3d environment artist at Ubisoft. For this piece, I followed the Game asset pipeline for AAA Games. I started by analizing the references, created a blockout, then a High Poly object. Then I turned it into a low poly object, uv unwraped, exported to Marmoset 3, where I baked the high poly onto the low poly mesh by using the weighted normals technique. Then I set the render scene, and exported my baked textures to Substance Painter, where I painted the textures. FInally, I imported the textures from substance into Marmoset 3, and set my render scene with a Turntable render. I was able to learn and to improve knowledge I already had, with some new tools and techniques taugh by Emiel. The bamboo spout and bowl references the Tsukubai and Shishi-Odoshi fountains commonly found in Japanese gardens while the floating lantern is inspired by Tōrō Nagashi, a Japanese ceremony where paper lanterns are released into the river. This environmental prop was inspired by Inès “Ourka” Rotzinger’s concept art for Amber Isle (https://www.artstation.com/artwork/ZeBWom). The way they draw lily pads is really cute and I love the colours of the water, the foam streaks and the fun foam bubbles so I tried to preserve these traits in the texture and the 3D model. Unlike my CS:GO skins, this model was actually made by me. Made in Maya, and textured in substance painter, this NEC APC computer looks very nice in my opinion due to it’s 4K screen and emissive map. Weirdly enough I don’t remember this project taking very long. The model and texturing probably only took 3 hours and was made during school. But I am typing this at 1:16AM so I dunno. Enjoy my model. P.S. I included 2 STOS basic references for lolz as well as a motherlover one that didn’t survive the resolution of one of the materials. Sad. Edit: I don’t know why, but this didn’t make it in to the show. I honestly don’t know why. Even if the picture sucked (it didn’t) it should’ve made it in because of how few entries in the Computer Generated Art categories there were. Oh well.
