This is a 3D model of a cast of the Terme Ruler, an ancient bronze statue in the Museo Nazionale Palazzo Massimo in Rome. The cast is made of plaster and is in Statens Musueum for Kunst in Copenhagen, Denmark. The Terme Ruler depicts a man with a disproportionately muscular body, especially when compared to its more modestly shaped head. Estimations date this statue to near the 2nd century BCE, comparing it to the Terme Boxer, particularly in hair style.

Le arpe e le lire di Ur sono un gruppo di strumenti musicali a corda risalenti a circa 2.500 anni prima di Cristo e rinvenuti nel 1929 durante gli scavi condotti nell’antica città sumerica di Ur, nell’odierno Iraq, dall’archeologo statunitense Leonard Woolley. Si tratta dei più antichi cordofoni di cui si abbia testimonianza.
Gli strumenti, ricostruiti, sono conservati in tre diversi musei, il museo nazionale iracheno di Baghdad, il British Museum di Londra e lo University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology.

La singolare bellezza della scultura Luzzetti, la qualità della lavorazione e la struttura vigorosa sono tutte caratteristiche che sembrano confermare la correttezza dell’attribuzione a Giambologna (pseudonimo di Jean de Boulogne; Douai 1529 - Firenze 1608). Inoltre, le dimensioni e il grado di rifinitura dei particolari inducono a credere che non si tratti di un bozzetto di studio ma di un vero e proprio modello compiuto.
