Fire station no. 32 was constructed in 1907, after the Great Baltimore Fire of 1904. At 10:50am on February 7, 1904, a small fire in the business district rapidly spread throughout a large portion of the city by the evening. When the blaze was finally extinguished, “an 80-block area of the downtown area, stretching from the waterfront to Mount Vernon on Charles Street, had been destroyed” (History.com). Consequently, Baltimore City erected dozens of new fire stations after this event. More recently, the interior was completely renovated in 1984 to an office building, and in 1997 to house Baltimore City College. Monumental staffage building on the grounds of the Lednice-Valtice UNESCO World Heritage Cultural Landscape in the Czech Republic. The Reisten Colonnade near Valtice Castle stands on the highest hill of the cultural landscape. The building is a combination of a triumphal arch in the center and colonnades arranged on the sides. In the corner pavilions spiral staircases lead to the roof terrace. It was built under Prince Johann I Joseph of Liechtenstein in memory of his father Prince Franz Josef I of Liechtenstein and his brothers Prince Alois I of Liechtenstein and Philip Josef. The Reisten Colonnade was begun by Joseph Hardtmuth from 1810 to 1817, and continued under Joseph Kornhäusel in 1813. Joseph Klieber worked on the building decoration until 1823. After a damage in 1907, the building was restored under Carl Weinbrenner. Coffin of the Pharaoh Akenaten in the Egyptian Museum, Cairo, Egypt. This coffin was recovered from a tomb in the Valley of the Kings in what has been designated Tomb KV55. The tomb was discovered by Edward R. Ayrton in 1907 while working for the wealthy American Theodore M. Davis. The tomb has been controversial since it’s discovery, originally being designated the burial of Queen Tiye. It has now been shown through DNA analysis that the remains found in the tomb are those of Akenaten himself. The DNA has further demonstrated that Akhenaten was the father of Tutankhamen (King Tut). The face of the coffin and the name in the cartouche have been deliberately removed in an attempt to condemn the “heretic” pharaoh in the afterlife and erase his memory. Thhe model1907/10 (here, the 1913 Landsturm cut) represented the main tunic of a german foot soldier’s unifrom at the start of the first world war (1914). This version is specific to the Mannschaften, Other Ranks, of the Prussian Army (Buttons and Buckle, red piping everywhere with Brandenburg cuffs). The tunic went trhough considerable changes due to the war, removing decorative elements, making it cheaper to produce. A M15 blouse was introduced in 1915 with a simpler design, no visible buttons and no pipping.
