3D model of Ardrossan Castle during the 1st week of the Exploring Castle Hill Excavations of 2019. The model was captured with photos taken on two seperate days and with visitors and diggers milling about but Reality Capture software has filtered much of this noise out and blender was used to edit out any problem area's. Exploring Castle Hill is part of a Cultural Heritage and Archaeology Project being led by Northlight Heritage for Garnock Connections. The Project is funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and Historic Environment Scotland. I was aiming for a Warcraft look (as in Frozen Throne, not necessarily WoW) with limited resolution hand painted textures.
Glow FX were originally done as billboard planes, flickering was achieved by randomly rescaling them; the little bat and moving candle flames were animated by shifting UV - as these techniques are currently unavailable on Sketchfab I edited them out and left a static model with no billboard tracking.
