These arches once formed the base of a tomb or shrine in the early medieval church that is now part of Glasgow Cathedral. It may have been associated with the shrine of St Kentigern, the first bishop within the ancient British kingdom of Strathclyde, who died in 614. The Tomb with the Silver Woman is designed for use as the central point of any place of piety to be exposed on a catafalque. On the lid is a silver sculpture of a woman holding golden rose in her hands. The edges of the lid are decorated on both sides with gold leaves. The coffin is made in the Greek-Roman style, the whole scene is to give the impression of the last resting place of the queen or heroine. The tomb is positioned on a small podium with one step. What you see in sketchfab is of lower quality than what is really there due to the limits of polygons but I have added some separate files where the quality is much better.
