Many of his rare original pieces of apparatus are on display in this room. To your left is a recreation of Titanic’s Marconi wireless room using authentic era devices. The rest of the exhibit includes rare original pieces of Marconi Wireless Company apparatus discovered in attics and collections around the world. Without Marconi’s wireless aboard the Titanic, all lives would have been lost. Quite possibly my longest project. So long, in fact, that I had to squeeze two projects in between to rest my eyes. But the concept is so good that I wanted to do it justice and recreate it as faithfully as I could. The most challenging bit was the grass and I was scratching my head trying to figure out how to render it. In the end I used partially transparent planes with painted texture. It isn’t best suited for 3D inspection, the illusion quickly falls appart, but I learned a new technique that will help me in future projects.
