For my submission, I present MAT COP 21. COP 21 is inspired by the fictional character Eva from the pixar movie Wall-E. My artistic take on the challenge was to present a visual representation of the effects of climate change. Similar to the message conveyed in Wall-E my model expresses the juxtaposition of despair and hope for a ecologically sound future. The damage on the model symbolizes the negative impact on Earth but still holds hope in the form of the pod accepting the plant. I focused in on subtle details that are symbolic for these current issues such as: dented & bent metal, the burning lines ( Earth’s rising core temperatures), the cracked glass (depletion of the Ozone Layer) and, the black malice at the figure’s base (oil spills in our bodies of water). The only warning the victim has is the sound of her nails on the floor as she drags herself along. She will cut the legs off her victim and try to replace her own.
Normally Teke-Teke is depicted as a teenager but I made mine closer to elementary school aged. In the hypothetical game she would be placed in I felt like the change would make her creepier. She was completely sculpted in ZBrush. Her low res was made in Maya and her textures were done in Substance Painter.
