I’ve been working on this project since mid January now and it’s finally finished! Everything is modelled in Blender and the textures are painted in Photoshop. Diffuse and Alpha maps only.
I thought I would create a scene with a small story behind it.
The mysterious tiny wizard was experimenting with his rare mandrake Root and home grown crystals. He found an old recepice on how to create a special magic potion with the ancient root. By trying it out, he mixes the wrong ingredients together, which turns out to be a magic spell for opening portals. Over several assessments I have made and worked on some assets and wanted to display them, but felt that they were lacking just being on their own. Many of these assets were toy like, and I brainstormed different scenes I could fit them into.
I decided on a child’s room, and built some supporting assets to build the corner of a room.
I challenged myself to complete it within a day, though I ended up using most of a second day as well. Overall it was a simple, fun scene, and a nice break from character work.
