Built using old parts and technology common to OBA vessels, but lovingly cared for and maintained by veteran spacers. Don't count this old hulk out so soon. Contains a centrifugal habitat ring, zero-gee industrial zones, a high-output nuclear reactor, and a spacecraft hangar. I started this as a fun little side project that I would work on when taking a break from my primary piece. For this project I wanted to try something new and different. My goal was to get more comfortable making strange shapes in Zbrush and also to become better at hand painting textures. Primarily painting in the shadow, lighting, reflections/ highlights and bounce lighting into the diffuse map. This character has 1 diffuse map, 1 Alpha map and has a emission applied using the diffuse. It has a poly count just over 4k triangles.

A model for Astrokill, an indie game I’m teaming up with. This will be the slower-but-beefier fighter for the Outer Belt Alliance faction.
It features dorsal and ventral 30mm turrets, fixed 60mm autocannons, and a 120mm main gun. It can also carry up to six nuclear torpedoes to combat enemy installations, one of which is shown here just prior to main engine ignition. For defenses, it has thick hull plating typical to the OBA faction, partially shielded thermal management systems, and an enhanced inverse gravitic field generator which can be found under the starboard wing. This craft supports a standard crew of three, featuring a habitat section for extended mission endurance. The maneuvering thrusters are placed on long arms to increase their physical moment and provide more turning torque. When inactive, it folds to fit through a launch tube and to minimize its target profile.
