A few years ago I was asked by PK (aka King Deluxe) to contribute something to his VRChat world called The Land of Ooo, which was based on the cartoon TV series Adventure Time. For reasons I still can’t quite fathom I volunteered to take on creating Finn and Jake’s entire Tree Fort inside and out!
I completed the model but unfortunately other work commitments at the time meant I wasn’t able to texture it, so it was left up to other artists to finish it off. I started this as a fun little side project that I would work on when taking a break from my primary piece. For this project I wanted to try something new and different. My goal was to get more comfortable making strange shapes in Zbrush and also to become better at hand painting textures. Primarily painting in the shadow, lighting, reflections/ highlights and bounce lighting into the diffuse map. This character has 1 diffuse map, 1 Alpha map and has a emission applied using the diffuse. It has a poly count just over 4k triangles.
