This is my first time making 3D character art, so it took long to make this model. I was never satisfied with the body and textures of the Elite, so I was constantly changing and adding things. After the Elite was finally finished, I decided out of the blue that the Elite needed a plasma rifle. Then I had to model that gun too, which also took a million years…
However, it was the most fun personal project I’ve ever done, and I learned so much from it! I will definitely be making more character art in the future.
The alien in question is a Covenant Elite Zealot or Sangheili Zealot. I’m a huge fan of Halo and I was shocked to realize I’ve never done 3D Halo stuff before. So I chose to make an HD remake of the classic Halo CE elite zealot, with some of my own changes here and there. It was a great experience working on the rifle.I used our creativity to add certain elements to make it more appealing. The goal of this artwork was to make it look realistic.I used lots of shading techniques to make it look great and be more versatile. This rifle is comprised of four texture sets.
