This is the first version of a cow character I am currently working on. Its for a low poly game my buddy and I started to develop last week. I will show further versions of this character as well as additional models here on sketchfab. Here's my process using blender: I box modeled the body, the arms and the head as separate objects and smoothed everything with the subdivison surface modifier. For the texture I used a wacom tablet in combination with blenders texture paint mode. I have no experience with texture painting, but I'm quite happy with the first result. Tried out a new workflow with this piece, which is starting off with a base mesh in Zbrush, sculpt all details, bake the Diffuse and AO in Substance Painter, add Color Gradients to the Diffuse and use that as a base for my Handpainted texture! I learned a lot in the process in regards to zBrush and polishing my Handpainted skills when its about metal and cloth. But I also realised that I end up changing things up a lot in the final stage, which means I still rely a lot on my handpainting!
