  "Killer Beats" Casette Mixstation 3D Model 2023-11-05
A look into a mercenary's gadgets, more specifically his beloved mixstation, where he tapes his favorite tunes for long fieldwork! (…and other, less long things). I set out to make a charming, retro-esque computer workstation with a stronger identity, so it wouldn't just feel like a regular retro computer, and had a lot of fun doing so! This model was used in a rendered photo that I submitted to the 2018 (Edit: 2019) APS Metro show in Abuquerque as part of the “Digital Photography/Special Techniques” category. Unlike my CS:GO skins, this model was actually made by me. Made in Maya, and textured in substance painter, this NEC APC computer looks very nice in my opinion due to it’s 4K screen and emissive map. Weirdly enough I don’t remember this project taking very long. The model and texturing probably only took 3 hours and was made during school. But I am typing this at 1:16AM so I dunno. Enjoy my model. P.S. I included 2 STOS basic references for lolz as well as a motherlover one that didn’t survive the resolution of one of the materials. Sad. Edit: I don’t know why, but this didn’t make it in to the show. I honestly don’t know why. Even if the picture sucked (it didn’t) it should’ve made it in because of how few entries in the Computer Generated Art categories there were. Oh well. Retro computer demo - This is an animation demo of my new low poly computer model. It was very fun to do ! At first I had some issues with the screen changing (interpolation between frames) but I found a trick: place the second screen on the first one, one frame before it disappear.
