This is a model of a low-poly and game-ready scifi weapon. The weapon is composed of separate meshes that can be animated with a keyframe animation tool. The model comes with several differently colored texture sets. The PSD file with intact layers is included. Please note: The textures in the Sketchfab viewer have a reduced resolution to improve Sketchfab loading speed. If you have bought this model please make sure to download the “additional file”. I designed, sculpted, retopologized and textured this glove to reflex the essence of my personality, in order to proceed with my Animation Portfolio. Clearly, I could have picked up any FPS arms available on the modding sites but I decided to do something ‘me’ this time. As you can guess the influences that I took for this piece, they are Spider-Man (obviously haha), Titanfall 2, drawing glove and Dirty Bomb. This prop is a redisgned water gun inspired by firefighters. The design is also remarkably similar to flamethrowers. I was inspired to make it an Overwatch weapon, but realistic. I imagined a character that used a WWII style flamethrower, but modernized of course.
I went a little far with the initial blockout and moving straight into the highres was a lot of cleanup work. I ended up making more fluid straps so the model was more dynamic. I struggled with cleanup when trying to make the game res, but in the end it got where it needed to be. I’m happy with how the floating geometry baked. The textures needed to feel like propane tanks or fire extinguishers. I got some great feedback to fix the contrast and realism, I’m very happy with where this has gone so far. After some minor texture polish in the metal map and roughness this project is in it’s final stage 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 26371 polygons.
