Originally the church was built in the second half of the 17th century in the village of Velké Loučky near Mukačevo (today’s Zakarpatska Ukraine). The whole building was made of wood and ranks amongst the most beautiful peasant buildings of this region. The timbered church is more than 14m long and is about 8m in width. The main and also the tallest steeple is over 17m tall. The village of Velké Loučky sold the church to its richer neighbour village so called Medvedovce in 1793. The building was taken apart and put together again in its new place. The church was given to the Prague City and transferred in 1929. It must have been taken apart again with its individual parts marked with numbers. The parts were then carried on four railway wagons. === Scan was only a test of my new 14mm lens :). As early as June 1920 the cornerstone was laid in the presence of President T. G. Masaryk. The monument was eventually commissioned in 1931 from sculptor Bohumil Kafka, a professor at Prague’s Academy of Visual Arts, outside the tender. The sculpture was intended to be monumental and realistic. It took Kafka ten years to complete the sculpture, and an advisory board of nine people was established to supervise his work, consisting of specialists, historians and hippologists. SY Carola is possibly the oldest seagoing steam yacht in the world. It was built in 1898 by Scott & Sons of Bowling at their shipyard on the north banks of the River Clyde. At 70ft in length, Carola is of steel construction with teak decking and deckhouse, and now has two masts. Built for personal use by the shipbuilder’s family, Carola was used as a yacht during the summer months and when not being used for pleasure by the family, it would take groups of senior yard staff on Clyde cruises. In winter it would have served as a tender and tug at the shipyard. By 1964 it was sold to a private owner, before being purchased in 1981 by a Sus firm and used for corporate hospitality. Carola became a part of the Scottish Maritime Museum’s collection in 1994. The model was created as a part of ‘Scanning The Horizon’ 3D digitisation project.
