This is a scan of a macquette I made a couple decades ago that got built into a 30 foot sculpture for a private playground. I decided I wanted to practice retopology, and figured I’d take a random request instead of portraying one of my own characters!
Retopology is by far one of my biggest weaknesses, and while I think this one turned out better than my previous ones I still have lots to learn (like the paws being a bit too square). I also forgot that the eyes were relatively high poly… Oops?

This was created as part of Ashleigh Warners’ ‘Creating Stylized Game Assets’ course available through CGMA. I completed my first draft last November, but I went back over it and made as many changes as possible to get it to a place I felt confident in sharing.
This is MEEPO, or the Mega Express Espresso Processing Operator 3000. The initial idea was to have this retro-futuristic coffee-station diorama that sold a particular kind of mundane story (even if it was in a sort of space-setting).
Either way, this is my first fully-completed hand-painted project and I couldn’t be happier! It was created through a mix of Blender, 3Ds Max, 3D Coat, Substance Painter and Photoshop!
