This is a 3D reconstruction of a typical 15th century Bed, with an oak wood frame and linen bedding. The matress is suspended on ropes, which are attached to the frame. Wessex Archaeology 3D models are historically accurate - based on real world artefacts with input from historical and archaeological experts. This model is part of a VR experience of a medieval weaver's house, based on a site in Salisbury. The model uses PBR textures and is optimised for real-time applications such as in Unreal Engine. Raw photogrammetry scan 305 Photos Agisoft Texture downsized from 16k to 4096. This was a bit of a risky scan. I was worried about issues cropping up due to any change in the folds of the pillow when rotating or repositioning it. Thankfully this is a fairly stiff pillow and I was able to successfully get all sides in a single scan. There is a red banding issue on the back that does not exist on the pillow. I’m assuming this was caused by the texture generation process. The 3D model presents a digital reconstruction of solid and riveted rings of archaeological mail armour. To create 3D models of the rings, we used polygonal modelling functions of Blender software. In order to record the relevant measurements of the mail rings, we used a list of parameters. This list includes 11 parameters for a riveted ring and four parameters for a solid ring. The accuracy of the digital replicas of the rings was 0.01 mm.
