One caryatid from the temple of Athena on the Acropolis in Athens. This is a replica, original ones being exposed in museums in Greece but also one in the British Museum. Limited scan. Because of the difficult environment, I was forced to take pictures from very far with almost no sight of the back. I partly reconstructed missing parts in this area and textured too. I also did some manual delighting in blender to suppress hard shadows caused by morning sunlight. A caryatid is a sculpted female figure serving as an architectural support taking the place of a column or a pillar supporting an entablature on her head. The sundial is designed 1924 by artist Roman Haavamäe on the Haapsalu, Estonia seaside Promenade. The face of the dial depicts the life of man – starting with a child and ending with an old man supported by a cane. It shows the local sun time, which is about 90 slower than daylight savings time.
Sundial was destroyed in 1945 but sculptor restored it 1960.
