This stunning portrait has been drawn by one of our employees. We decided to breathe life into it and make it even more pleasant to look at. Thus, we created an animation based on the storyline of the picture and used AR to bring the picture to life, with the girl playing the violin in real time. This has been our very first AR project. Scene made in 3DS Max using 3 Particle Flows of 3 different meshes : Grass, broadleaf cattail and a flower.
I did 2 different meshes for the grass, added a cut in the center to bend each grass in an opposite direction. This way it’s nearly impossible to see the faces from above.
In the Particle View, I used a data operator (Event) with Matrix operands and Quaternion rotation in order to align particles to the normals of a sphere. Very useful to scatter objects on an uneven surface.

Another commssion. A greek shield with it’s spear rest modified into a guillotine, making it a lethal weapon.
The commissioner speficically ask for viking runes on the shield, indicating this equipment has been smithed and used throughout the edges. The runes spelled “Demonbane.” revealing its original purpose. I’ve tried to incorporate more geometry in my recent line of productions to preserve its original shape, hopefully it’s pleasing to the eye for you.
