This was such a cool project to work on. I made this project based on the concept art from Kyle Corneliushttps://www.artstation.com/artwork/5l2Kz. Everything has a first time well this project was a lot of first times. This is my first time working in zbrush I always wanted to learn how to sculpt and work it down to a useable game ready creature. After making the high poly in zbrush I went to Maya for the retopo this was also a first for me so learned to work with the quad draw tool. When the low poly was done I uv unwrapped in Maya and textured in substance painter. I went back to zbrush for the posing. I used 3d-Coat.
Step 1: I made normals for some panels and baked the occlusion
Step 2: Base colors. I made a color palette and I picked my colors from there. I also added some bolts on the metal plates.
Step 3: I added some smart materials, dirt and a gradient from the bottom.
Step 4: I hand painted all the rust effects, and other little dirt effects.
