In Kameoka city near Kyoto the castle is not there anymore but the walls remains. In fact they have been rebuilt to restore some of the former beauty of this location.
I captured 3 walls sections, the interesting thing here is the technique used to build the wall. Instead of well joined and polished stones here huge rocks are pilled up and smaller rocks fill the space between. It was suposedly designed to allow to hear soldiers cllimbing the wall as they would eventally let a small rock fall.
This third wall is a low wall before a gate to enter the castle ground. This wall as fewer and big stones taht fit well together. Some stomes are recycled from other building as testify the carving tah tcan be seen in many stomes used in this castle. Oda Nobunaga ordered this Castle contruction as a base for the invasion of Tanba region. This work is based on a Sketchup-file. Unfortunately I don´t remember the name of its author. Anyway, thanks for the great model! Several years ago I converted and repaired it into a watertight STL-file.
My purpose is to provide watertight STL-files for you, which can easily be modified for 3D-printing, according to your personal preferences. Because of that, most of my models are not repaired into one single shell. According to my own experience, this may be a bit more difficult for the preparation of the build, but helps you a lot, if you want to personalize the model. E.g. if you want to seperate parts, such as wheels or mirrors or to remove delicate details like wipers, door handles etc.
Before printing, please check out if you have to modify the model, depending on the favored size of your print and the requirements of your printer. I hope you enjoy it. Happy printing!

Our basic set came with a light plastic arch which ended up to be pushed away all the time. Later I found out that ikea used to make the bridge in one solid wooden part.
I decided to design and print a similar base that would click under the curved rail. It has raised rails on the top on which the wooden trails sit. Edges are curved by 1 mm. You can either stick the parts together or keep them separate.
