This specific hut is large and spacious, of a grandeur typically only enjoyed by the first wife of an established family. That said, individual taste, style, availability of material, and general economic means resulted in great diversity among the greater Luo community as regards the small details. Still, this hut can be seen as the most archetypal appearance, with differences in size or trim keeping to the same general design.
