La misma pertenece a finales del siglo XVI cuando Roma anunció su fundación oficial, ya que el edificio había sido adquirido y fundado “extraoficialmente” como convento años antes por Juana de Mendoza y Zuñiga.
En su parte superior podemos todavía observar en el tímpano del arco restos de las pinturas con la imagen de Santo Domingo, que queda flanqueado por unas columnas de fuste estriado.
En el tímpano antes mencionado se hallaba también la Cruz de Santo Domingo, que sería trasladada de lugar en el siglo XIX.
