The castle was built by Hiero I of Syracuse in 474 BC. At the same time, two towers were built to control enemy fleets’ movements. Worked on this army camp environment for a VR project long time back, so thought of posting it here before I forget about it. Modified the original look and filled with more props to give a better look.
This environment is a base camp that acts as the home scene/ main menu in the game, I was responsible for entire scene creation from sratch and lighting as well.

The carving is made of Scottish Oak and was made by the Clow brothers from a design by Alice Meredith-Williams.
The Scottish War Memorial opened in 1927 after the former North Barracks were altered. It is located at the North side of Crown Square, at the site of the church of St Mary, previously used as munitions store in the 1530s.
