A fan-art from the game The Legend of Zelda! Link's Master Sword and shield awaiting for him on a calm, magic forest, while Navi flies around. Engraved on the statue, the games from the series that I have completed so far. My first attempt at handpaint (well, months ago I did one with the mouse, but that doesn't count :P), and I'm really really satisfied with the mood of the scene and the result :D It's quite a change from my usual style. It began as an approach to modeling in 3dsMax with the Master Sword, then with the shield… and I couldn't resist, I had to make the scene. Textured and animated with Blender. I was really curious on the particular art style the Valheim’s devs went for, so i tried to replicate it and make a scene for it! Had a real fun time on this one.
Most of the texture here are made by downscaling to something between 50x50 and 100x100, depending on the size of the object, and then upscaling to a normal txt size (512 or 1024), keeping the hard edges of the pixels.
This method specifically on the normal map is what gives really strange results that match the art style.
