This project was probably one of the more complex models I've done. I first worked on the handle of the saber first since that's where all the detail resides. Throughout the modeling process, I would always forget to model a certain component after laying out UVs and textures, so I will have to go back and model it in. The goal of this model was to practice using marmoset and quixel to make an asset similiar to one existing in a game to test my abilities, i chose to model the drilldozer (doretta) from Deep Rock Galactic. The game has a low-poly aesthetic and i wanted to try to make a more photoreal version and had to make some adjustments to the design to fit the change. I went on a completely different direction from my first project (treasure chest) going from a some what realistic hand painted to the most stylized texture I could do.
