The German S-mine (Schrapnellmine, Springmine or Splittermine in German), also known as the “Bouncing Betty" on the Western Front and “frog-mine" on the Eastern Front, is the best-known version of a class of mines known as bounding mines. When triggered, these mines are launched into the air and then detonated at about 1 meter from the ground. The explosion projects a lethal spray of shrapnel in all directions. The S-mine was an anti-personnel mine developed by Germany in the 1930s and used extensively by German forces during World War II. It was designed to be used in open areas against unshielded infantry. The S-mine entered production in 1935 and served as a key part of the defensive strategy of the Third Reich. Until production ceased in 1945, Germany produced over 1.93 million S-mines. These mines inflicted heavy casualties and slowed, or even repelled, drives into German-held territory throughout the war. A 3d model based on a museum example of a sten like submachinegun in the Polish military museum in Warsaw, the submachinegun or “SMG” was made by Edward Sitek a member of the Polish resistance during the Nazi occupation of Poland in ww2 most likely by hand and out of scrap metal with minimal tools.
The design of the submachinegun is most likely based on the famous British Sten gun mixed with the Polish Mors smg, there is also from the looks of it some Russian ppsh 41 influence of the gun as the what could be a safety, fire selector or both look fairly similar to the ppsh 41s fire selector. Not much else is known of the gun as the museum exhibit does not tell you much, no idea what the fire rate was or in what cartridge it was chambered in, my guess is that it’s in the ever popular 9x19 parabellum or “9mm” cartridge as the dimensions seem right to me 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 48635 polygons.
