This was such a cool project to work on. I made this project based on the concept art from Kyle Corneliushttps://www.artstation.com/artwork/5l2Kz. Everything has a first time well this project was a lot of first times. This is my first time working in zbrush I always wanted to learn how to sculpt and work it down to a useable game ready creature. After making the high poly in zbrush I went to Maya for the retopo this was also a first for me so learned to work with the quad draw tool. When the low poly was done I uv unwrapped in Maya and textured in substance painter. I went back to zbrush for the posing. This concept incorporates all that I love about Formula 1 cars. A muscular chassis, bold apperance and a lot of features that cater to my personal taste. The concept incorporates parts of the 2007/08 cars aesthetics while its proportions are oriented along the lines of the cars from 2017 onwards. The cars front is slightly exaggerated to pull visual focus towards the bulky forms. Wings and winglets across the chassis have a modern, almost futuristic, form-language.
The concept itself was spatially sketched with Blenders amazing Grease-Pencil. The modeling was also done in Blender “atop” the sketch.
All in all a joyful experience to create my first F1 freeform concept.
