This is a diorama inspired by one of Florian Dreyer's concepts I found on Artstation called ‘Candy Farm Building'. I loved the colours and textures from the concept and really enjoyed creating it in 3D. I'm really enjoying creating these small diorama's with handpainted textures so I'm sure there will be more coming soon. I used Maya for the modelling and Substance and Photoshop for texturing. I also created a small scene in UE4 which you can see on my Artstation post (link below). The goal of this model was to practice using marmoset and quixel to make an asset similiar to one existing in a game to test my abilities, i chose to model the drilldozer (doretta) from Deep Rock Galactic. The game has a low-poly aesthetic and i wanted to try to make a more photoreal version and had to make some adjustments to the design to fit the change. So, I decided to use this diorama school project as a way to explore what 3d can offer and how it looks it other completely different styles.
I went on a completely different direction from my first project (treasure chest) going from a some what realistic hand painted to the most stylized texture I could do. I decided to do cell shading for this one, although cell shading material doesn’t export to sketchfab I decided to duplicate every object and flip it’s polygons to give a similar ilusion, ence the diorama having the double of the budget tri on sketchfab.
