Firts cartoon, inspired by the Metal Slug character style and World War II pilot accessories. HEAD: I Start with sphere in Zbrush, use Move, Standard, Dam Standard, ClayBuildup and hPolish brushes to sculpt. RAF FLYING HELMET: The base is a mask extraction from head geometry with leather details added using noise (Surface tab). The seams is a low poly model from cylinder to create InsertMesh Brush. The back straps was sculpt with Topology Brush. All rivets are IMM inserts. GOOGLES: I drew some shape in Illustrator to explore the form, imported the strokes in Cinema 4D to model a primary form. To continue I sculpt detalis in Zbrush again, here several techniques was use, Dynamesh, ZRemesh, Retopology, Hard Surface, IMM insert, Deformers, as well I created UV (UV master) an ID maps (polypaint) and export the final model in high and low resolution. To texturize I used Substance Painter, all textures applied to the models are inside the substance painter shelf. After a long time of sitting unfinished, here he is! This guy has been collecting dust in my computer files for a while. He started as a class project, but I never felt I did the original concept art justice after the one week I had to work on him, so I decided to resculpt and finally get around to texturing him. I had to fix a lot of stuff as well as optimize him for him to be game ready! I’m very happy with how this guy turned out, and it was a good piece to practice all aspects of the pipeline since I did a lot of back and forth changes. I decided to go a bit more realistic and dirty than in the concept by adding grime, barnacles, mold, etc.
Sculpted in ZBrush, Modeled/Retopo/UVs in Maya, textured and rendered in Substance Painter with Iray

Photogrammetry Scan of an original specimen from Fossilogic (casting rights holder), in Pleasant Grove Utah.
Scanned using a Nikon D850 with a 35mm prime and an Xrite color chart.
Images were processed using Adobe Lightroom and calibrated to the color chart in ADOBE RGB colorspace.
Scan was completed in Epic Games Reality Capture.
Scan geometry was processed in Autodesk 3ds Max using the retopology modifier to get to an accurate polycount to be subdivided to as close to 100millon polys as possible.
Max was also used to unwrap into UVW layouts.
The resulting retopoed and UVw’d geo was re-imported into reality capture and base color info was reprojected.
The resulting geometry was imported into Maxon Zbrush for clean-up and minor restoration.
Mesh Maps were baked in Marmoset Toolbag 4.
Those maps and the maps from the reality capture were imported into Adobe Substance Painter for the creation of PBR texture sets for Sketchfab, Unity/URP, and Unreal 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 382952 polygons.
