Same model just trying out a realistic whispery look. I have visited and revisited the hair model so many times, played around with so many settings, and with UE producing really realistic results, it seems like a waste of time. Although this hair is generated by brushed and styled hair curves, then using a hair card generator to make the thicker mass and finally my procedural hair for the strands. It went from bald to this in less than 2 hours, and most of the time is fiddling with the parameters in sketchfab. The UVs are also procedurally generated. The main difference between this and the other recently release version is that I tweaked it to have more hairs at the roots, and fewer at the ends. Seems very obvious but the nature of the geo closes at the ends, and with UVs generated evenly, it has the reverse effect. I admit if more time is spent on brushing the hair, and inserting extra cards down the parting I will get better coverage. This is a photogrammetry scan of a mid size photography studio in Los Angeles. Start by shooting a good 500 photos, very sharp, hi rez, RAW, with Sony A7, tripod, and remote control to avoid shake. Then color correct with Lightroom, save to 16bit TIFF, open in Agisoft Photoscan to create a rough 3D model, about 2 million polygons. Import this into Maya, rebuild in simple low polygons with clean UV layout. Next this low poly gets imported back into Photoscan where you can project the textures again, (only the best/sharpest 70% of the photo set) into the clean UV’s, and this will export out nice 8k textures. Then use in Maya as a lighting environment since you have the HDR 360 Pano (whole additional workflow there), and try out VRay with GPU for fun. Export out as fbx format for loading into Sketchfab or UE4, fly around with your VR headset. The 6-axis industrial robot is a KUKA KR210_R2700_prime.
