It is the duty of the goddess of youth, Hebe, to pour the elexir of immortality for the other gods. These are some very precious drops that she has been assigned to administer and distribute, and so Hebe is clearly concentratin on her work. She is also completely calm - the folds in her dress are almost as regular as the fluting on an acient column. However, the myth reveals that things eventually went awry: Hebe did end up spilling the elixir, and was taken off the job. A penteconter was rowed by fifty oarsmen, arranged in a row of twenty-five on each side of the ship. A midship mast with sail could also propel the ship under favourable wind. A Trireme is an ancient warship used by Phoenicians, ancient Greeks and Romans. The trireme has three rows of oars and a bronze ram used to damage other ships in naval battles. This model is mainly based on the Olympias, a reconstruction made in the 80’s.
This kind of boat was seen in video games like Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and numerous peplum movies.
