This project was probably one of the more complex models I've done. I first worked on the handle of the saber first since that's where all the detail resides. Throughout the modeling process, I would always forget to model a certain component after laying out UVs and textures, so I will have to go back and model it in. During the process I used Zbrush for the blocking, 3Ds max for the UVs and some of the modeling, Substance Painter for baking and first texture pass, 3D coat for retopo and final texture painting and Photoshop for final texture polish.
