A thick metal strap is put around this statue to protect it from additional damage and thieves.

This mahavihar is unique because unlike other mahavihar this is bigger and has a three-storey golden pagoda of “Shakyamuni Buddha” which was built in 12th century by King Bhaskar Varman.
