This is my first big character project using Zbrush and Substance Painter. I followed some good advices from Shane Olson's Youtube courses to achieve what I did here. There is a lot to improve, however the process of learning how to block-up a character, how to build a concept and how to use all Zbrush tools and resources has been an amazing journey. I'm thrilled for starting something new and keep learning good stuff! Coming back to the character, he is somekind of Roman centurion drawn on a stylized style. One month assignment. The goal was to make a next-gen character, ready to be implemented into a game. I really wanted to make a scifi character in his combat suit. I was inspired by Star Citizen, but Halo’s designs are really the best ones for this. For the process, at first I made the lowpoly model in Maya, then I went to Zbrush to subdivide it and put all the details needed with my own alphas. I baked the highpoly model in susbtance painter, and then I tried to make several smart materials to texture the whole character. I also did 2 different camos, because I needed a character that could fit in my upcoming space station project. I also rigged my character with my own auto-rig, therefore I was able to put it in several poses.
