I started this as a fun little side project that I would work on when taking a break from my primary piece. For this project I wanted to try something new and different. My goal was to get more comfortable making strange shapes in Zbrush and also to become better at hand painting textures. Primarily painting in the shadow, lighting, reflections/ highlights and bounce lighting into the diffuse map. This character has 1 diffuse map, 1 Alpha map and has a emission applied using the diffuse. It has a poly count just over 4k triangles.

It was quite a challenge to make this scene in less than a week while working a full-time job. Despite having to go to bed way too late every night, in order to finish it by the end of the week, I feel pretty good about the work I’ve done. I was experimenting with different finishes when stumbled upon a deep blue plastic material in my library which later became the base for material that made it to the render stage.
