Based on a townhouse in the town of Savannakhet in the Lao PDR. I started working on this at the end of 2010 in 3DS Max, but abandoned it midway through 2011. In 2013 I dug it out and baked light maps and AO maps in V-Ray before abandoning it again. At the start of 2021 I restarted work on it: I wanted to practice in 3D Coat and try to create a very soft painterly style, I was also interested in using unfiltered textures on slightly higher triangle models. 104k Triangles, 3x2048 Atlas textures 3D Model is ready to download for free

Dating evidence from the timbers and a coin found in the mast step placed the ship as likely being built, and sunk, during the Roman period, specifically in the 2nd Century CE. However, the ship was constructed in the Celtic tradition.
The reconstruction is based primarily on the excavation report by Peter Marsden published by English Heritage, “Ships of the Port of London – First to eleventh Centuries AD”. It contained detailed drawings of the remains and reconstruction drawings. Where no evidence remained, such as for the sails and the rear of the ship, Roman period iconography and other Roman period shipwrecks from northern Europe were used as inspiration. The sail plan is based of the Torlonia relief, and the nearly intact mast of a Roman period ship found in Bruges, Belgium.
