L’hôtel du Lac est un ancien hôtel de style brutaliste construit entre 1970 et 1973 selon les plans de l’architecte italien Raffaele Contigiani.
Selon la CNN, l’hôtel du lac, a fortement impressionné le créateur de Sars Wars, dont une large partie du tournage a été faite en Tunisie.
L’influence de l’Hôtel du Lac à Tunis, en forme de pyramide renversée, se verra plus tard dans le véhicule fictif Sandcrawler utilisé par les Jawas de la planète désertique Tatooine dans le film.
L’édifice en pleine période glamour accueillit plusieurs célébrités tel que James Brown. Mais les bons moments se sont estompés. This specimen of the rare African bird comes from the Bahr el Ghazal estuary in Sudan and was donated to the NHM Vienna in 1913.
The Shoebill is Number 76 of the NHM Top 100 and can be found in Hall 30 of the NHM Vienna.
