  Prince Of Persia 3D Model 2023-11-04
This is it my first game character I make in 3D, and I finally finshed :D After months studying with the course Anatomy of Rafael Souza (And another ones along the way, like game hair, render on marmoset, etc), I have finally finished this piece, where I made it everything from the scratch, trying to capture the concepts from Prince Of Persia Warrior Within (One of my favorites games, hope Ubisoft make another game). This was the hardest piece I've ever worked on, where many time I haved to redone some parts to get it right, but it was very fun to learn all the techniques (in sculpting and real-time) necessary to make it. The goal of this model was to practice using marmoset and quixel to make an asset similiar to one existing in a game to test my abilities, i chose to model the drilldozer (doretta) from Deep Rock Galactic. The game has a low-poly aesthetic and i wanted to try to make a more photoreal version and had to make some adjustments to the design to fit the change. Rather than make each region of the spine it’s own upload, it made sense to upload all 4 regions together. In order for me to understand the way the spine works I studied some wonderful models on this site as well as using my own art books to help me figure out what the characteristics are for each region. The Cervical region being far more delicate and intricate for hosing nerves and allowing movement of the head. The Thoracic featuring slightly larger and more simplistic vertebra that create overlaping links at the back to prevent our backs from bending too far the wrong way. They also have longer spinous processes that fold over oneanother. Then the Lumbar region has these really heavy duty vertebra that again interlock to maximise on supporting the weight of the torso. So cool! Lastly the Sacral region which pairs with the hips to form the pelvis! This is a photogrammetry scan of a mid size photography studio in Los Angeles. Start by shooting a good 500 photos, very sharp, hi rez, RAW, with Sony A7, tripod, and remote control to avoid shake. Then color correct with Lightroom, save to 16bit TIFF, open in Agisoft Photoscan to create a rough 3D model, about 2 million polygons. Import this into Maya, rebuild in simple low polygons with clean UV layout. Next this low poly gets imported back into Photoscan where you can project the textures again, (only the best/sharpest 70% of the photo set) into the clean UV’s, and this will export out nice 8k textures. Then use in Maya as a lighting environment since you have the HDR 360 Pano (whole additional workflow there), and try out VRay with GPU for fun. Export out as fbx format for loading into Sketchfab or UE4, fly around with your VR headset. The 6-axis industrial robot is a KUKA KR210_R2700_prime.
